Located in the vibrant heart of Houston at 5925 Almeda Rd, Davis Street at Hermann Park is a culinary gem that artfully blends a rich tapestry of New American flavors with influences from soul food, seafood, and exotic Caribbean tastes. This multifaceted restaurant excels at crafting an unforgettable dining experience that caters equally to lovers of fine dining, brunch enthusiasts, and casual pizza or sandwich aficionados.

From the moment you step inside, Davis Street offers a modern yet inviting atmosphere — sleek and sophisticated, but also warm and welcoming, making it ideal whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or enjoying a relaxed lunch. The attentive staff heightens the sense of care and precision, ensuring every guest feels like a VIP without pretension.

The menu here is a delightful journey through layered, bold flavors and fresh, well-rounded ingredients that excite the palate. Start with exquisite appetizers such as the Nola Style Charbroiled Oysters, bursting with smoky richness, or the Caribbean Mussels bathed in fragrant spices. For lunch, vibrant salads like the Mandarin Salad — a refreshing mix of baby greens, citrus, berries, and creamy goat cheese drizzled with poppy seed dressing — and the Seafood Mezcal Cocktail, an elegant concoction of shrimp, crabmeat, avocado, and hearts of palm, showcase the kitchen’s artistry with fresh, high-quality ingredients.

If you crave heartier fare, the sandwich selection is equally tempting. The Fried Shrimp Po’ Boy with remoulade sauce or the Roasted Vegetable & Mozzarella Sandwich with its medley of zucchini, basil, and crispy onion strings offer a perfect lunchtime indulgence. And pizza lovers will find joy in the Ricardo’s Margherita flatbread, with heirloom tomatoes and chimichurri sauce adding a vibrant twist, or the Meat “Lovers” craving satisfied by a rich blend of salami, prosciutto, and brie.

Desserts at Davis Street are the perfect final touch, with decadent options like the Down South Coconut Cake and the comforting Apple Pie Bread Pudding leaving a lasting impression. Pair these with a creatively crafted Espresso Martini or an island-inspired cocktail for a truly memorable meal.

Customers praise Davis Street for its flawless blend of upscale ambiance and genuine Southern hospitality. Jonathan Wilson, who recently hosted a corporate networking event here, described the venue as “sophisticated and welcoming” with attentive staff who make professional gatherings seamless and enjoyable. Similarly, diners appreciate the rich flavors—C. Lee calls the fried snapper “10s across the board,” underscoring the kitchen’s dedication to executing every dish with precision and care.

While the experience leans towards the higher end price-wise, regular guests and newcomers alike agree that the quality and service make every penny worthwhile. Whether arriving early to avoid crowds, as Stefanie B recommends, or planning a special birthday dinner like Taytifftomtony Grant did, dining at Davis Street is a celebration of bold flavors, attentive service, and an atmosphere that makes every visit feel exceptional.

Outstanding!!!! I hosted a corporate networking event here mid November and couldn’t have been happier! The venue offers a sophisticated and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for professional gatherings. The décor is modern yet comfortable, and the layout allowed for easy mingling among guests. The staff was attentive and accommodating. From our very first conversation till the wrap up of the event, they ensured everything ran smoothly. Our event was a success, thanks in large part to the professionalism and hospitality of the Davis St staff. I would highly recommend Davis St at Hermann Park for corporate events, business dinners or an occasion requiring a refined setting and exceptional service.

The food was delicious! But I did have a lazy waitress reach over my food to set down my friend’s plate. Walk around me, not over me!!!

Celebrated my birthday here. Made reservations with no issues. Absolutely wonderful service. Flavorful food. Delicious appetizers. Great wine selections. On the pricey side, but so worth it.

I came here as a guest of a birthday dinner, and from the moment I walked in the door hospitality was a 10 out of 10. The service was great, no complaints and I never wanted for anything for too long. I love the fact that they have Hoppin John's on the menu (!!) since I have South Carolina roots. The best thing I had here was definitely the fried snapper, 10s across the board!!! So flavorful, crispy, just amazing. The chef even came out after dinner, which was a nice little touch as well. I'll definitely be back!

Just had an amazing dinner. My server Benjamin was very professional of course. Everything was perfect. Arrived on a Wednesday evening just before 6 PM and the crowd wasn’t here yet. Did see some people coming in later so I know to come early next time. There is parking on the side but I’m not sure where to park if it is full in the parking lot to the left of the building. Anyway, here are my photos of what I had. I was happy to take some of my food home and I bet it’s gonna taste even better later! In the photos are: Mo’s Peach-Tini, perfectly balanced; Savannah’s Chipotle Cornbread, yummy - not your average cornbread; Caribbean Mussels - tastier than expected and definitely a must-try; Halibut with Crabmeat yesss; and Down South Coconut Cake. Enjoy!

Service started a little slow but by the end it was okay. I had the French toast and it was delicious. Cocktails are made well also. It was a Sunday and they were preparing for a big party so the place was pretty much empty. I will definitely come back and eat here
